Randle Stedwell Obituary

INDIAN TRAIL - Randle "Randy" John Stedwell, 47, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at CMC-Union Hospital, Monroe. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, with the Rev. Joe Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Whitley's. Mr. Stedwell was born Jan. 21, 1959, in Cortland, N.Y. He was an avid bowler and loved watching NFL football games on Sunday afternoons. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing in a pool league with his son in Michigan where he had lived for many years before moving to North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Edward Stedwell Sr. of Cortland, N.Y. Survivors include his mother, Patricia Bennett Stedwell of Concord; son, Randle John Stedwell II of Michigan; brothers, Ray Edward Stedwell and wife, Marie, of Carrolton, Ga., Mark Patrick Stedwell of Montevallo, Ala., and Michael Reed Stedwell of Concord; stepchildren, Amy, Michael and Ashley; two grandchildren, all from Michigan; and six nieces and nephews, Ryan, Bennett, Jason, Corey, Coley and Jackson. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Stedwell.
