13 years, or 33 years, the hole missing in our heart is still as significant as if it were last week. My dear Willette, Traulania, Eric, and Rod. Your dad, my dawg! Joe Steele always put the thoughts of others ahead of his. There are no perfect people, but if I could use Joe as my role model, it is still a stretch for me. Love to each of you.

Wow!! I'm really floored by what I have just read. My Brother has gone on to Glory. He was more than a friend, he was a mentor, close brother to discuss inner thoughts, and a great friend to laugh with. He had an interesting laugh. He lead a song while in the choir, "He is the Center of my Life". I'll always remember his voice and his commitment to loving life and family. I will trully miss Brother Joe!

To Willette, Trelawnia and Rod: Walter, Mitchell and I send our love and prayers to your family. Joe was such a good friend and mentor to us. Willette, you and Joe were great parents, and I remember having Trelawnia in the Tribe of Benjamin back in the day. We'll never forget how Joe, Trunell and a few of the guys from the choir came to help us move to Indianapolis in 1988 when Walter became Minister of Music at LWCC! Joe was a wonderful friend, and he showed us all what a godly husband and father looks like. We will miss him dearly, and we will keep you all in our prayers. We will see Joe again, and join him in that heavenly choir. Love to you all - Terri, Walter, and Mitchell Owens

Joe, you have always been my BUDDY from the very first day that we met you, Willette, and the children. (I still hear your voice gently nudging me to do the right thing) Fran and I speak of you and Willette so often that it will be an adjustment to speak of you in the past tense. However, you will always live in my heart as one of my very best friends for the rest of my life. There is a healing for your soul! Much Love my brother and to the entire Steele Family

Words cannot express the sense of loss in "Uncle Joe's" passing. He has been a wonderful connection in my life to some of my best lifelong friends and always an inspiration, radiating Christ's love. I will miss him greatly. But the comfort is in knowing he is now in the arms of Jesus and we'll see him again in heaven. With love & sympathy

Mr. Joe,

I will miss you. Thank you for assisting me in making one of my dreams come true in being a home owner. You were there with me every step of the way. I will miss your humor and the love that you showed for family and friends and the fun that our group had on the cruises. Don't worry about Ms. Willette, she will be loved from here to the moon. May you have rest in the wings of God's angels, but know that you will be missed.
