I started working with Larry in the late 80s and that relationship continued until 2013 when I retired. I just learned of Larrys passing while reading the news about the Reuben Center in Indianapolis. Larry and I would talk several times a month on topics from investments to politics to faith and family. We would talk about our Emilys as I have a daughter named Emily. When he would call, I would have to stop everything and concentrate because he talked rapidly and his wit was so sharp that I had to put on my A game to keep up! I have missed our times together. Larry was a man with a kind heart and generous spirit.

To Candi and Emily, although you didnt know me, I knew of you from our conversations. Please accept my very belated condolences. Please know that I would have attended his service if I had known. Larry was my friend and I am saddened to learn of his passing. May God bless my friend and watch over his family.

It is with a heavy heart that I have heard this news. Larry was ahead of me in law school and a great servant to humanity. He will be greatly missed.

We were friends in high school and regretfully ,I had not seen Larry since then as I moved to Minneapolis and then to Denver. He was very kind, friendly , and always willing to help someone with his school-work. I am shocked and sadden to hear about his passing as we have lost another wonderful classmate.

I just learned of Mr. Reuben death today. I believe him to have been a true Public Servant. The world is a better place for having had him in it. God bless his soul.

Like Former Speaker John Gregg, I first met Larry in connection with recounts of House elections - but I was on the other side. Larry was a fierce competitor and creative debater, and I enjoyed the challenges he threw down - always with a twinkle in his eye. Will always remember the last time I saw Larry, when he said to me, "Leslie, you're a very smart lawyer, excellent, really, and a good kid. I don't know why you're a Republican." He made me laugh, even after a difficult battle. I'll remember Larry and the lesson he taught me about being tough, and compassionate, all at once. My heartfelt condolences to Larry's family.

I worked with Larry at the Department of Insurance. He was the best boss I ever had and taught me so much about practicing law with integrity. He then became a friend. He would always say "Emily needs a new pair of shoes" when talking about his fees. He will be greatly missed.

I knew Larry growing up in Indianapolis as we went to Elementary, High School and College together. We were even ZBT's in the late 60's at I.U. He was just a good person growing up, kind friend, and we had a lot of fun together with many good memories. Although his wisdom, leadership skills, and values for the underdog are well known, he may have faced many challenges in his life. Perhaps that is why he fought so gallantly for others. My sincerest sympathies to Candi and Emily. Indianapolis and all that knew Larry have lost someone very special.

My deepest sympathy to his wife and daughter. You are in our prayers. When I tried to speak w/ him last week he was too ill. But I will cherish our last meal we shared back in June at the Workingman's Friend. The thought of our conversation makes me laugh, smile and think. Larry was such a good man. He was a fighter for the underdog and had a great big heart. I first met Larry when he would do our 'recounts' in House Elections. More recently he had begun to work w/ our Policy volunteers to help us with our issues in the '16 Governor's Election. He was going to be the person who made the final proof before we announced them. What a guy. I will miss him and his big heart.
