Vince and I were roommates at Ursinus. He was a good friend and I wish we could have stayed in touch after graduation. All my memories of Vince are good ones. He was a caring person without an ego.
In those days he expressed to me his desire to eventually distinguish himself professionally and it appears he accomplished that.
I was saddened to learn of his death and my sympathies go out to the family. The world was a better place because of people like him.

I used to work at IU School of Medicine, and Dr. Gattone was one of my favorite principal investigators. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I remember how he showed me how to palpate young rats to see if they had kidney disease. He was just an awesome person all around, and he helped me get enthusiastic about science.

Diane, Anthony, Jennifer, Christina, Nicholas and Catherine; we are so sorry for your loss. While Vince loved science and teaching, he was first and foremost a family man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
