Had the good fortune to work with John when he was with the State Fire Marshal’s Office. We did joint inspections at different locations in my section of the city. He was a friend besides being a colleague. He was a good man.

I was an inspector with the Hammond Fire Department and worked with John on numerous occasions. He and I always worked as a team. I had other Inspectors from the State who were not as good as John. He was truly a good friend and individual. He will definitely be missed by many many people. RIP buddy.

I had the privilege to work with John when he was with the State Fire Marshall´s office. I was an Inspector and also second in command of the Fire Prevention Bureau in Hammond. I learned a few from him. Whenever he came in we would have lunch at this Polish Deli. John was a super guy. He also wouldn´t back down from anyone especially if they were giving him a bad time. He was a great guy.

My sincere condolences on the loss of Johnny K. I worked with him at the Fire Marshal's Office and he was one of my favorite ones to talk to when he would come down to the office. So full of life and I loved to hear his stories. I know he will be missed by many.

My name is Chuck Meyer, I 'am retired from the Hammond Fire Dept. John was assigned to our area while with OSFM(Office Of State Fire Marshall). John and I hit off from the start. He would come and if we did joint inspections and had time he liked to go to a Polish Deli here in Hammond. Being of Polish decent on my Moms side this was great. We never exchanged harsh words to each other. We were friends, he was always a gentleman. I remember doting on his children. Even though I retired 10 1/2 years ago I tried to stay in touch with at least several times a year by phone. My condolences to you who loved him the most. I can say I'll miss him too.
