REGINA PAPE Obituary

PAPE REGINA ASHE (nee SWEENEY) 79, died Monday, October 25, 2021 at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA, surrounded by her family. Born April 1, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Sweeney, Esq., a prominent Philadelphia attorney, and Regina Ashe Sweeney McCarter. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, she was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia and Manor College in Jenkintown, PA. She was then employed as a medical secretary at Pennsylvania Hospital. After moving from Philadelphia, Regina, affectionately known as "Reggie," resided in Scotch Plains, NJ and Barrington, RI. She then lived in Westport, CT from 1976-2006 before moving to Malvern, PA, where she resided until her death. While raising her children, Reggie dedicated time to volunteering with their schools and other activities. She also worked as a freelance typist and editor. Reggie enjoyed time at the beach, be it Longport, NJ, Westport, or Marco Island, FL where she and her husband, Luke, wintered. While living in Westport, she enjoyed a close-knit circle of friends and loved to entertain. Reggie was an avid reader, loved to travel, and enjoyed staying active. Reggie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Morgan Luke Pape Sr.; sons Morgan L. Jr. (Christine) and Timothy; a daughter, Regina Carron (Thomas); as well as five grandchildren: Quinn and Caroline Pape, and Thomas, John, and Luke Carron. She is also survived by her sisters Judith Riley and Mary Clare Hogan, and brothers Charles Jr. and Daniel. She was predeceased by siblings John T. Sweeney and Jean Cummins. Reggie's family will receive condolences from 10:00-11:00 A.M., on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 104 Channing Avenue, Malvern, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution in Reggie's memory to The Paoli Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice. www.maugergivnish.com
