Russell Boeder Obituary

Russell Allen Boeder May 31, 1963 - Dec. 6, 2011 Resident of Castro Valley Russell Allen Boeder passed away suddenly on Dec. 6, 2011, in Castro Valley at the age of 48. He was born May 31, 1963, in Alameda, CA to Christel and Alvin Boeder. He was a life long resident of San Leandro. He graduated from Pacific High School in 1982, where he enjoyed playing football. Russell was also a competitive swimmer and swam for the San Leandro Beavers and the Drowning Darryls from 1967 - 1982. Russell was also an avid racing enthusiast. He served as crew chief for 26 years for local driver Jim Tryon, competing all around the Western United States, gathering not only numerous wins and championships, but many memorable experiences all of which he shared with friends and family. Russ was an Electrical Contractor for Tryon Electric Co. for 28 years, working around the entire bay area. When Russ had free time he truly enjoyed living life. He enjoyed deep sea fishing which took him to places such as Panama and Hawaii but he especially enjoyed salmon fishing in his own back yard just beyond the Golden Gate Bridge. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and the freedom that brought him. His favorite season was Hockey season! He could and would talk to anyone that would listen about is favorite team the San Jose Sharks. But what Russ loved most was his role of being a great friend and son. He will be greatly missed. Preceding Russell in death was his brother Steven. He is survived by his mother Christel Boeder, his father Alvin and wife, Robin, life long friend and mentor Jim Tryon and wife, Diana, fiance Caroline, brother Richard and wife, Cheryl, sister-in-law Debbie Chambliss, nieces Nicole, Laura, Jennifer, and Kimberly, and nephew JB; cousins Jerome Boeder, Sandra Pickett and Marcia Barnes and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held on December 17, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA. A reception will follow from 4:00-6:00 at Elio's Family Restaurant, 260 Floresta Blvd, San Leandro, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Pathways Home Health & Hospice or a charity of your choice.

Russ is truly going to be missed by many friends & family members. We had a lot of laughs through the years and going to miss those crazy jokes, that silly laugh, the pranks you played. You were a great Son, Brother, Brother in Law, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew and Friend. You are truly going to be missed. May you rest in Peace until we meet again.
