Lawrence McKillip Obituary

Lawrence D. McKillip, age 62, of Belleville, formerly of Oscoda, died Saturday, June 19, 2010.
He was born Oct. 24, 1947, in Detroit, son of the late Earl Arthur and Phyllis (nee Motl) McKillip.
Mr. McKillip proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. He worked for Ford Motor Company for more than 30 years as an engineer technician at the Tech Training Center, Dearborn. He then enjoyed teaching at Eastern Michigan University.
He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Reserves, Tawas, and was a sailor. He loved to collect classic cars and car parts, especially from eBay, and was a member of the Classic Car Club, Oscoda.
Larry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Virginia L. (nee Foss) McKillip; four children, Chris McKillip of Chicago, Bobbie (Brian) Henderson of Belleville, Jennie (Brian) DeSmith of Oxford and Beth (John) Morawiec of Westland; 11 grandchildren; also two brothers, Ken (Melinda) McKillip of Washington and Art (Barbara) McKillip of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, also his beloved dogs Molly and Maggie.
The funeral was held June 23 at the David C. Brown Funeral Home, Belleville. Memorial contributions to Glacier Hills of Ann Arbor or to the Michigan Humane Society and would be appreciated by the family. (www.davidcbrownfh.com)
