James Gillon Obituary

James Carroll "Jim" Gillon, 76, of Middleton, Tenn., formerly of Kilmichael, died of complications from pneumonia at Graceland Care Center in New Albany on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.
Mr. Gillon was born in Duck Hill on Dec. 27, 1937. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Middleton Church of Christ in Middleton, Tenn.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at Huntsville Church of Christ near French Camp, with interment following in the Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael. Dan Beardain officiated the services.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Catherine Gillon Hall of New Albany; son, James Carroll "Bubba" Gillon Jr. (Jennifer) of Middleton, Tenn.; sister, Margie Gillon of French Camp; brother, Raymond Gillon (Polly) of Stewart; his former wife and devoted friend, Betty Carolyn Johnson Gillon of Middleton, Tenn.; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dewitt and Lula Bell Lott Gillon; two sisters, Gloria Estelle Gillon and Lou Janie Gillon Youngblood Palmertree; and a brother, James Franklin Gillon.
Visitation was from 5 until 7 p.m., Friday, at Huntsville Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LeBonheur Children's Hospital or to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
