FREDERICK (FRED) TRASK

Dec. 16, 1924 - Nov. 26, 2012



Frederick Trask, 87, of El Centro joined his wife, Mary and sons in Heaven on November 26th.
He was born December 16, 1924 in Brockton, Mass. and attended local schools while helping on the family farm. Fred entered the United States Army Air Corps in April 1943. He served on a C47 air crew as tech sergeant in support of the WWII invasion of Normandy and later served in Korea, Europe, and the USA. While serving his country, he was married to Mary L. Trask on August 2, 1949 in Tucson, AZ. Fred retired from the Air Force in 1957 from his last station, Flight Test Center, Edwards Air Force, California. Fred came to the Imperial Valley and began working with the USDA. He went on to work for the County of Imperial, retiring after 23 years. Fred enjoyed woodworking and building clocks in his spare time.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles; wife, Mary; and son, David.
Fred is survived by his sons, Robert of Mesa, AZ, Don and Joyce of Imperial, and William of El Centro; daughter, Barbara and Robert Ellis of El Centro; and numerous grandkids and great-grandkids.

I knew Fred as a neighbor for about 40 years remembering Fred and Mary sitting on front porch swing on a daily basis watching the neighborhood he will be missed.
