Robert Joseph "Bob" Schneider

Schneider, Robert Joseph "Bob" Age 78, of Jackson, was born into eternal life on Monday, January 2, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Margaret (Herda) Schneider; sisters, Phyllis Fountain and Rita Hicks; and brother, Richard Smith. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 54 years; children, David (Susan) Schneider, Michele (Timothy) Papiersky and Steven (Carrie) Schneider; nine grandchildren, Samantha, Brittany, Rachael, Tyler, Shelby, Michaela, Cody, Joseph, and Peyton; sister, Catherine Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with his family, especially around the holidays, time at the cottage on Farwell Lake, listening to Elvis tunes with his lovely bride, time spent with friends reminiscing about the good ole days, and hearing about the many successful accomplishments from each of his grandchildren. Bob retired from the Railroad as a welder, after 35 years of service, where he made many life-long friends. Bob is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Fr. James Shaver officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home, or to the charity of your choice.
