Irene Blaine Obituary
A native of Jackson County, she was a member of the Methodist church and was a member of the Magnolia A.M.E. Church.
Ms. Blaine taught school in Jackson, Calhoun, Liberty and Washington counties. She retired in 1985 from the Washington County School Board.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m. at the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Riley J. Henderson, Steve Marshall and William Harvey, and Apostle Fred McMillion officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Church Cemetery, with arrangements entrusted to the caring staff of Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
Ms. Blaine leaves a lifetime of love and precious memories with one daughter, Deloris Williams of Marion, Ohio; one son, Willie Jean Blaine of Irvington, N.J.; a granddaughter she raised as a daughter, Sharon McMillion and husband the Rev. John of Marianna; a great-grandson she helped raised, Skooter McMillion of Marianna; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. She will lie in repose on Saturday at St. Luke, for one hour prior to services.
