Norma J. Copas

Earl Park

Norma Jean Copas, 73, of Earl Park, Indiana, passed away on March 4, 2014 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 8, 1940, in Minden, West Virginia. She was the daughter of William and Pearl Crone. At the age of 13, her family moved to Monon, Indiana, where she later graduated from high school in 1959. Norma worked as a telephone operator in Kentland, Indiana, where she later met the love of her life, and on June 25, 1961, she married Norman Copas at the Presbyterian Church of Earl Park. She and her husband were professional gospel clowns, known as Rainbow and Poka-Dot, for over 15 years, and was also a member of the Fowler Christian Church. Norma loved farming with her husband for the past 50 years. In addition to her love of farming, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, morning coffee with friends, sunday drives, going out for supper, attending her grandchildrens sporting events, and quality time with her poodle, "Buddy". Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Norman Copas, daughter, Kathy Jones (companion, Robert White) of Wolcott, son, Jeff Copas (Kami) of Fowler. Five brothers, Charles Crone (June) of Boston, Mass., Bob Crone (Carolyn) of Monon, Richard Crone (Kelly) of Union Mills, Jimmy Crone of Morocco, Dean Crone of Demotte, and a sister, Mary Sharp (Dave) of Williamsport. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Arica Kyburz of Rensselaer, Trent Kyburz (fiancé, Allie Mattocks) of Rensselaer, Colleen Jones of Wolcott, Jenna and Karissa Byers of Fowler, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Crone of Lafayette. The family would like to express it's gratitude to the Guardian Angel Hospice program and all of their devoted nurses.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm., today, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Windler Funeral Home, Fowler.

Funeral Services will be at 11 am. Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Fowler Christian Church. Burial is at the Earl Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Benton Central F.F.A. and the Guardian Angel Hospice.

Sorry I could not make it back; however, I found this site to offer my condolences. I have so many great memories from visiting Norm and Norma as a teenager.
