A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Christian Renewal Church of St. Simons in St. Simons Island, Ga.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than 27, retiring as a master gunnery sergeant. He was a member of Christian Renewal Church of St. Simons where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Betty Russell Ansink; children, Kathleen Ansink of Edenton, Beth Ansink Johnson of Dinwiddie, Va., John Olin Ansink Jr. of Dewitt, Va., David Lawrence Ansink of Elizabeth City, Susan Russell Arnold and Whit Ervin "Skip" Russell, both of St. Simons Island, Ga., and Katy Russell Czaikowski of Sugarland, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Donations be made to the Humane Society or Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Arrangements are by Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium.
