Patricia Davis Obituary

On Friday July 8, 2011, Patricia Spivey Davis passed away peacefully at Duke University Hospital surrounded by friends and family after her courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Pat was born on January 17, 1952, and grew up in Washington, N.C.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Davis; one daughter, Jamie Davis-Williams and husband, Derrick, all of Swansboro; her father, Col. (Ret.) David W. Spivey and wife, Mildred, of Washington; her mother-in-law, Margaret R. Davis of Bath; one brother, David Spivey of Concord; and one grandchild, Gavin. She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Bost Spivey.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Davis residence, 203 Gertrude Hurst Ct. in Swansboro. A celebration of her life will be held at the Swansboro Rotary Civic Center at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 13.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Swansboro Rotary Scholarship Fund or to Duke Hospital Children's Clinic, care of Swanboro Rotary Club.

Jim,
We were so sorry to hear of Pat's passing and wanted to let you know we are thinking of you. I guess we'll always remember those special days in New Bern so long ago when Jerry moved there and you guys took him under your wing. We laughed a lot and had some really good times together! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. We'll be thinking of you tomorrrow and sending you our love.
