Rosann Carr Obituary

Rosann P. Carr Age 88, of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Rock Island, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Rush-Copley Medical Center, Aurora, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial is at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation was Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a rosary was recited at 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Alleman High School, Rock Island. Rosann Naab was born on January 23, 1922 in Rock Island, a daughter of Fred and Lucy Weinert Naab. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1939. Rosann married Daniel J. Carr on July 6, 1944 in Rock Island. He died on July 20, 1996. She worked as an expediter at John Deere Planter Works, Moline, retiring in 1985. Rosann was a member of the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rock Island, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a past president of the St. Joseph Catholic School P.T.A. Rosann enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and traveling and especially loved playing with her granddaughters. Survivors include her children (and souses), Dennis (Susan) Carr, Chester, Ill., Thomas (Linda) Carr, Paris, Ill., Patti Carr, Farmington, NM, Linda (Steve) Leatherman, Plainfield, and Chris (Bruce) Bothne, Bode, Iowa; grandchildren, Megan (Joe) Hedlund, Brian Carr, Michael Carr, Colleen Carr, Lucy (Dave) Dahl, Patrick Blocker, Hannah Bothne, Carrson Bothne, Lian Leatherman, Lusi Leatherman and Lili Leatherman; and a sister, Virginia (Phil) Kennedy, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Mary Agnes Severson. Online condolences may be left at www.wheelanpressly.com.
