John Sarra Obituary
Son of the late Leonardo and Florence (Matola) Sarra, John was born in New Britain on Sept. 9, 1919. He attended schools in New Britain, served in the U.S. Army, and worked as a carpenter for 66 years in Local Union 43 in Hartford.
John leaves three sons, Gary J. Sarra and Ann of Hebron, James L. Sarra of South Windsor, and John J. Sarra Jr. of Massachusetts; a daughter, Arlene Marvonek and Robert of California; two brothers, Ben Sarra and Edward Sarra and Ann, both of Southington; two sisters, Mary Garvis and Elizabeth Burns, both of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Emily, Michael, and Megan Sarra; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Burial will follow at Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor.

Uncle John was my Godfather so he will always have a special place in my memories.
