Janet Gross Obituary
She was born on April 22, 1934, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Florence (White) Bernier and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. Prior to her retirement in 1997, Janet was a crossing guard for the Town of Enfield for several years. She worked as a waitress for most of her career, having been employed with Friendly's Restaurants for over 25 years. Janet was a member of the Tanguay Magill Post 80 American Legion Women's Aux.
She is survived by a son, Ralph Gross III of Minnesota; a daughter, Cindy Schnaedter of Virginia; and her two grandchildren, Jackie Schnaedter and Ralph Gross IV. She also leaves a sister, Claire Salisbury of Enfield; a brother, Larry Bernier and his wife, Carol, of Boston, Mass.; three nieces, Brenda and Beth and Susan Frothingham and her husband, George, of Enfield; a nephew, Major Ralph Archetti and his wife, Melissa of New Mexico, currently serving in Iraq; along with many dear friends.
A funeral procession will form on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at 9 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, to St. Patrick Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Janet's life. Interment will take place in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery.
Janet's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 2550 U.S. Highway 1, N. Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
