Steven Abbe Obituary

It is with extreme sadness Steven M. Abbe Jr., 22, of East Windsor, son of Steven and Maggie (Ryan) Abbe and beloved brother of Jennifer and Rachel Abbe, all of East Windsor, left the loving arms of his family on Monday, March 30, 2009.

Stevie was the grandson of William and Lillian Abbe of East Windsor and leaves behind several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his "best buddy," Kathy Morgan. Stevie was a 2008 graduate of the East Windsor Middle School multi handicapped class. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile and laughter. Throughout his life, his courage has and will continue to inspire us all. Stevie will continue to show us that strength and determination come from within his heart.

Stevie's family would like to offer a special note of thanks to Dr. Gerald Calnen and his staff for their extreme dedication in caring for Stevie throughout his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 3, at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine Church, Broad Brook. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor. Memorial donations may be made to Stevie Abbe Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Webster Bank, 2 North Road, East Windsor, CT 06088.

Dear Steve, Maggie, Jen, and Rachel,
You know how saddened we all are over our loss of Stevie. Of all the Abbe men I think we all agree that Stevie was the strongest. His strength and resilience throughout his life was a lesson to all of us, to keep trying no matter how difficult the journey may be. Our family gatherings will never be the same now, but Stevie, we will hold our glasses up to you and remember your incredible life on our special Christmas Eves. Now it's your turn Stevie, to run, jump, laugh and soar.
We love you, Uncle Eddie, Auntie Donna, E.J. and Kimmie

Dear Maggie, Steve, Rachel and Jen,

Words can't express our sorrow for your loss, a loss so hard to comprehend. You devoted your lives to Stevie and hopefully those memories and the love you shared will get you through this sad time and the years to come. You know if there's anything at all we can do for you, we're just a phone call away.

Much love, Jim and Coni

STEVE AND MAGGIE, WE ARE SADDENED TO HEAR ABOUT STEVIE'S PASSING. I KNOW THIS WILL BE AN EMOTIONAL TIME FOR YOU, WE HAVE EXPERIENCED IT AS WELL. BUT YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS, AND THERE ARE MANY PRAYERS GOING UP FOR YOU. WE PRAY THAT YOU WILL HAVE PEACE AND COMFORT, AND KNOW THAT HE IS FINALLY ABLE TO RUN AND JUMP, AND I'LL BET EVEN SING, AS THE ANGELS ARE HIS NEW PLAYMATES. WE LOVE YOU
