Carroll Cooley Obituary
He was born in Stafford Springs, son of the late Roy and Ruth (Crane) Cooley. Carroll was briefly a Merchant Marine, and then he served in the U.S. Army 307 Airborne during World War II. He retired from AMF CUNO as a maintenance worker. Carroll was a member of the Masons Ionic Lodge No. 110, A.F.&A.M. of North Windham, and Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 of Stafford. He enjoyed traveling the country with his wife on motorcycle, bringing back many stories from the people they talked to along the way.
Carroll is survived by his four children, Carroll "Buck" Cooley, and his wife, Ronalyn, of Enfield, David Cooley, and his wife, Barbara, of Tolland, Walter Cooley of Enfield, and Linda Rowe, and her husband, John Jr., of Stafford Springs; four grandchildren, Meghan Gagnon, Caitlin Cooley, John Rowe III, and Chris Rowe; great-grandson, Ian Reiprich; uncle, Ralph Crane; aunt, Barbara Crane; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at 1 p.m. at West Stafford Cemetery, West Stafford Road Stafford Springs.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

I was saddened to hear of Carroll's passing and even sadder to learn that Barbara had passed away last fall. I looked forward to seeing them every summer at the Davis Reunion. I always enjoyed talking to Carroll. He and I were related at least three different ways, twice through the Davis family and once through the Cooley family. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families. We'd be happy to have you join us at the Davis Reunions. I will make a motion at next week's gathering that we dedicate this year's reunion to the memory of Barb and Carroll.
