Catherine Grace Kivlin

Catherine Grace (Kelly) Kivlin, 89, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham.

Daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Heslin) Kelly, Catherine was born and raised in New Britain. She was the widow of Kenneth James Kivlin Sr. to whom she was happily married for 57 years. Catherine was a resident of Enfield for 35 years, where she was a faithful communicant of St. Martha Church. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Catherine is survived by her children, Kenneth Kivlin Jr., and his wife, Melinda, of Columbia, Michael Kivlin, and his wife, Rosemary, of East Hampton, Timothy Kivlin, and his wife, Yong Hui, of Alexandria, Va., and Maureen Mar, and her husband, Christopher, of Acton, Mass. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her brother, Peter Kelly, and his wife, Rita, and her sister-in-law, Irma Kelly, all of New Britain. Besides her husband, Kenneth, Catherine was predeceased by her brother, Bob Kelly, and her sister, Loretta Holleran, and brother-in-law, Bill Holleran.

Friends and family may gather at St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield, on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial, followed by interment at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1309 Stanley St., New Britain.

Catherine's family will receive relatives and friends at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, from 1 to 3 p.m.
