Robert Kimberlain Obituary

Robert Ray Kimberlain RACINE – Robert Ray Kimberlain, 85, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Bob was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on June 7, 1928, son of the late George and Thelma (nee: McGuire) Kimberlain. In 1947 Bob moved to Racine and then on May 24, 1952 he was married at Epiphany Lutheran Church to the love of his life, Beverly Louise Rieman. Bob and his brother Jim operated Kimberlain Trucking for 25 years. After that he drove for Nestle in Burlington until he retired in 1993. Since he always enjoyed being active and meeting new people, he began working at Lakeview Pharmacy delivering prescriptions to area nursing and group homes. He loved interacting with the residents and staff. Bob also enjoyed playing dartball, playing cards, many other games, and square dancing with Beverly and Circle 8 Square Dance Club. He also enjoyed watching and going to Wisconsin Badger football games. Bob was a faithful and active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, having served as president of the church council and as head usher for many years. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; their children, Susan (Clyde) Allen of Pleasant Prairie, Robert (Analiza) Kimberlain II of Newburgh, Indiana, and Ronald (Julie) Kimberlain of Racine; 7 grandchildren, Ray Allen of Milwaukee, Christopher, Brian, and Matthew Kimberlain of Newburgh, Indiana, Joshua, Cassandra, and Nichole Kimberlain of Racine; brother, James (Shirley) Kimberlain of Racine; sister-in-law Imogene Kimberlain, and aunt Deloris Musick both of Ashland, Kentucky; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and members of Beverly’s family. He was also preceded by his step-father James Short; and his brother Jack Kimberlain. Funeral services will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church at 11a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 with Rev. Michael Zarling officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home this evening from 5p.m. – 7p.m., and in church from 10a.m. until the start of the service. Memorials to Epiphany Lutheran Church or Ridgewood Care Center have been suggested. The Kimberlain family would like to acknowledge the staff of Ridgewood Care Center for going “above and beyond” for Bob and the rest of the family during his long-term care; and to Allay Hospice for their care and assistance in the closing days of Bob’s life here on earth. Dear Bev and Family,

I am so sorry to learn of Bob's passing. Take comfort in your strong faith that he in now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.

Our families go way back at Epiphany. I think both our families may have been founding members. I know my grandmother, Cecelia Lenz and your mother, Minnie were great friends. In addition, you and my mother were members of the Home Guild at church. Keep the memories close.

May God grant you His peace in this difficult time. My heartfelt sympathies to you and your entire family.

Sincerely,
Nancy Rohner Hsddad
