Concetta Mitchell

RACINE - Concetta A. Mitchell passed away Thursday September 27 2012, after a full 90 years of life. She was a lifelong resident of Racine other than a wonderful short stay in California. She worked at Rainfair in her early years and as a restaurant manger the rest of her working life, raising her family along the way. Connie, as her friends knew her, was an avid bowler and golfer. She played many sports in her school years and participated in just about everything she could. She volunteered for many different duties at her church, St. Paul’s, and was willing to help anyone, anytime it was needed. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Those that had the pleasure of knowing her, knew how important her family and friends were to her. The great joys of her life were going on trips, moments at the pool in her yard, playing cards, spending time cooking, eating and occasionally drinking with family and friends. Connie is survived by her daughter Diane Mitchell; son, Ed(Karen) Mitchell; granddaughters Karrie(Mike) Petrowski, Nina(Brent) Schaub; great granddaughters, Rylee Madison, Regan Alexandra Petrowski, and Gemma Edward Schaub. She is also survived by her brother, Mike(Carol) Corona. Sisters Dolly Staats and Katy (Ron) DeRose; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large number of close caring in-laws from the Mitchell side of the family. She was preceded in death by husband Edward, parents Michael and Catherine Corona, brothers Sebastian, Joseph, Donald and sister Florence. A mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Connie’s life will be held at St. Paul the Apostle church (6400 Spring St.) Tuesday October 2nd. Visitation will be held at 5:00 until the time of the service at 7:00. Private interment will be held at the Veterans’ Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
