Allen Mertins Obituary

ILION, NY - Allen R Mertins passed away on April 27 at the age of 74 after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia. He had been residing at the Mohawk Valley Healthcare facility in Ilion, NY.  Allen was the son of Theodore and Violet (Linski) born 9/3/42 in Racine, WI.  Allen was a patriot who served his country in the USAF until 1965.  He was a lifelong resident of Racine, his last residence being on Isabella Avenue.  Allen was a TV repair technician and those who knew him knew how much he enjoyed tinkering in his electrical and wood workshop. Allen is survived by his four sons Richard, Scott, Tim and Allen along with his step children Jeanie, Joanie and Danny as well as 10 grandchildren Joshua and Bradley (Richard and Francine), Amanda, Scott, Megen and Michael Keane (Scott), Sarah and Jessica (Tim), Nicole and Tyler (Allen and Margaret) and 10 great grandchildren Anika, Alaina, Malakai and Maxx (Amanda), Ella (Scott and Tiffany), Jett (Sarah), Hayden, Mathew, Blaine, Madelyin (Jessica and Coty). Allen will be put to rest at his family plot in West Lawn Memorial Park.  The interment will take place at the graveside on Thursday June 1st at 11:00 am – all are welcome.
