Dear Family;
Grandma was a Dear Lady, growing up as a child I knew her well as (My Grandma), then of course I grew up, married, moved out of state and was gone for quite a while, and kind of drifted away. Then my Mother (Amy) Passed and shortly after I moved back home. It still took me a while to get back in touch with her, but eventually I did. We'd talk on the phone; though she had a very hard time hearing. I found myself having to repeat myself quite often; but that was O.K. Once every couple of months My husband and I would take Dad and go visit her, I believe she understood that we had to travel a distance to get there and couldn't make it as often as I perhaps would have liked but I'm sure she appreciated it very much. Then of course Richard passed, that was a very sad time for Grandma. I know she missed him terribly. As she had told me so. We were at his funeral, Then some time went by and though we talked on the phone, we hadn't seen her in a little while, up until about 6 Months ago we made it a point to visit her once every 2 months or so. She really seemed to enjoy the visits. I remember once we actually surprised her though, I had tried calling her and her phone wasn't working and I got worried so I called uncle Jerry and Auntie Joanne to let them know; and they said they had just been there during the week. But My mind and heart just wasn't put at ease, So I went home after work and Told My husband I need to go check on My Grandmother Please. He of course said No Problem and we on our way. We got there Uncle Glen opened the door and Grandma said with Great surprise Wellll Hello. She was Sooooooooo Happy you could (Hear It) in her voice. We had Dad, Ellie and Dylan, and My husbands Mom with us. Then of she went into the hospital and (I Made It a Point To Be There With Her Every Single Day). Then she ended up going into Icu; and looked not so good, then they drained the fluid, and she perked right back up again. The second day in there, I said Grandma I Love You, and Her Reply was "I Love My Family, I Love All My Family, Family is Family No Matter What." I said We Know Grandma. then she went into Hospice and again we were there, and there was this one night where she was set she wanted some soda, she kept saying it, Finally we asked the nurse about it the nurse said we could give her some as long as we put the thickner in it, so I did. I said Grandma heres some soda on a spoon, she took it and made a face and swallowed it, looked at me and as Plain as day....... Shouted to me You Call that Soda. and I then said to heck with it; Give me that Dang Soda. She took a couple swallows and was satisfied. The last night that we were there I made it a Point to tell everyone; She needs to be told You love her and that it was O.K. for her to go Home. We were gonna be Fine, Everyone was going to be Fine, Auntie Joanne and Myself even told her that Auntie Helen, Uncle Mel, and Uncle Jeff all send there Love; and say its alright for you to go Home. We had stayed till about 8:30 P.M. that night. Came home, went to bed and got the call at 1:15 A.M. That Grandma had passed. Grandma: I Love You and I Will Miss You, Godspeed Grandma. Do me a Favor and tell My Mom Hello and I send My Love To Her.
