Kenneth Braun Obituary

Braun, Kenneth Patrick 53, Of Rockford, Illinois, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Kenn was born to Joanne Zupan and Raymond Braun on December 6, 1961, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is survived by his mother, Joanne Braun, brothers Daniel (Wayne Mauro), Timothy (Sharon), Dennis (Eda), Michael (Amy) and William (Lisa), as well as his Grandmother, Frances Zupan, numerous nieces and nephews, and his two beloved dogs, Bently and Gizmo. Kenn worked for many years at a variety of salons in both Milwaukee and Rockford, acquiring many lifelong friends along the way. He also spent numerous years employed with the United States Postal Service, delivering mail and bringing smiles to everyone on his route. His love and passion for the performing arts was reflected through his involvement in productions with the West Allis Players and the Clock Tower in Rockforfod, Il. In addition to his love of the arts, Kenn was an avid gardener, loved to bake often treating his co-workers to an assortment of baked goods and diligently worked to knit unique scarves and throws for family and friends; often mailing his creations to unsuspecting loved ones. Kenn left this world at 3:30 in the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19, 2015 and was welcomed by the loving embrace of his father, Raymond Braun, and husband, Tony. He died peacefully while surrounded by his immediate family. Kenn will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him as a friend, loved him as a son, or embraced him as a brother. Kenn's wishes were that in lieu of flowers, donations be provided to: Pius XI Catholic High School Performing Arts 135 North 76th Street Milwaukee, WI 53213-3597

To the family, I worked with Ken, such a wonderful person. He would always bring in treats for us. I just want to share what type of person he was for those who didn't know him. He would bring in mini cheese cakes for us often and add cherries (one of the many deserts he brought in) I did not like cherries and I would not get one he asked why, and I said "I don't like cherries" so the next time he brought in the mini cheese cakes he had a batch that did not have cherries. He wanted everyone to enjoy his tasty treats. He was such a caring person. Sleep well my friend.
