Francis Box Obituary

Box, Colonel Francis Marion USAF (Ret.) "Pat" Of Pewaukee. Died on December 24, 2006 at the age of 86. Born in Knickerbocker, Texas, the son of the late John Rushe Box and Verna Box. Beloved husband of Marta E. Box. Loving father of Ralph H. (Susan K.) Box. Dear grandfather of Samuel L. and Russell C. Box. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Pat retired as a Colonel from the US Air Force after a distinguished career. While in the Air Force he was Assistant Professor Of Physics for the USAF Institute of Technology, Director of Guidance and Control of the Ballistic Missile Program and a Member of the Research Advisory Committee to NASA. Upon his retirement from the USAF, Pat worked for AC Electronics, later to be named Delco Electronics as Director of Engineering for the Apollo Program, he retired in 1983. Pat was named and honored as a "Space and Missile Pioneer" by the USAF. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28 from 12 Noon until the time of Service at 2 PM.
