Leonard was everything friends, family and comrades had to offer and more, he was a true friend. Jims life was and my life will forever be enriched for having had Leonard in it. Heaven will never be the same now that those two are there! My very very sincerest sympathy to Mary and the rest of the
family.

I knew Mr. Dereszynski as my father's (Ed Williams) best friend. As a child when our families gathered for BBQ's at each others homes, all I remember is the constant laughter between the two of them! It was such a joy to be part of that and our family will always have fond memories of him. I am sure that my father, now passed was the first to greet him at heaven's door.

I didn't know Leonard Dereszynski as Col or as a pilot I just know that I will miss his smile and kind words to my mother and I as he walked back from communion at the 5 o'clock mass on saturday night at IC. Rest in Peace my friend.

The monthly retiree luncheons are always something to look forward to, but the after lunch visits, with Leonard's reflections, were the highlight of the day. I'll miss them.

I first met Lenny in 1977 when his militarty career was winding down and he was still active as the 440th Wing Public Affairs Officer. He was one of the most interesting persons I ever had the pleasure to meet. His stories were alway engaging and he was a friend of everyone he met. When you put the list together of those who "Did it all" Lenny's name will be near the top. One of the finest officers I had the pleasure of seerving with.

Dear Mary and family. My heart goes out to each of you at this time. Col D's passing will leave a definite void in our military family and community. His many years of service to our country both in and out of uniform will not be matched. He helped me greatly during my time in recruiting for the 440th. His many contacts in the community were alwqays available to us because he was one of us. God bless you as you carry on with your lives.

Leonard was one person I could never spend too much time with. His life experiences and life views were captivating. I have memories of flying the C-119 with him and wining and dining with him. He was the consummate conversationalist. I will miss him so very, very much. Our world was so much the better place for his having been in it.

Leonard was such a witty, intelligent and fun person to visit with. Many fond memories from the Milwaukee military community and of course, Bailey's Deer Camp. Col Dereszynski will be missed but not forgotten.

As a fellow member of AMVETS Post 60, I didn't know him real well, but at an event I attended, engaged in conversation with him - a very intelligent and warm individual, with a distinguished career in the military and the educational field.

Col. D was one of the greatest men I new. He had a sense of humor matched by none. I have not seen him much in the last 30 years or so but will never forget him.
