My deepest sympathy to Dave's family and friends. I met Dave just last March at the Ruffed Grouse Society banquet at the MAC, and had a very enjoyable and spirited conversation about grouse hunting and Dave's involvement with the Oshkosh Brewery.

We are so sorry to learn of David’s passing. I couldn’t help but shed a tear while reading of it. We will miss him deeply and never forget him. Even in this moment of tears and farewell, we smile as we remember his kindheartedness and generous spirit.
We had a wonderful little visit with Margery and David during Christmas. What always amazed me about David was that he remembered details like no one else I had ever known. Thank you for staying in touch. We are so pleased to have been able to talk with him one last time!
We will always remember his thoughtfulness, kindness and life. Please know we are praying for you all during this difficult time. David truly touched our lives.
With affection, Lori and Ernie Guevara

I was saddened to see Dave's obituary in the paper over the weekend. I am sorry for your loss.
As you know, I knew Dave for many years as a patient and as a car enthusiast. The last few years I am sure were not enjoyable with the back pain that he had, and at lease at this time he is no longer suffering.
He was a wonderful person and he enjoyed not only those people in the highest social circle, but also the commonest man. He will be sadly missed.

I met Dave in the early 1960's after I, myself, returned from military service (a subject neither of us thought of mentioning to the other). Over the years, he and I talked of many things, and I learned to take his "slant" on things that we discussed as true wisdom. I liked Dave very much.

Dear MM and family,
My condolances on Dave's passing. Although it has been years since I talked to Dave, while he served on the RGS board of directors from 1981 until 1996 and as its president from Dec. 1986 until Dec. 1988, I interacted with him several times a year. I always enjoyed being around him and he always asked about my wife.
I hope your memories are as happy as mine.

I am very sorry to learn about Dave.
Beginning in third grade at Plymouth Congregational Church Sunday School, we were friends for a long time.
Dave should have been able to become CEO of Schlitz Brewery and remake it again, into the world's finest Brewery. He would have been great.
Dave's outstanding effort in the second half of the 1938 Hill-Hotchkiss championship football game, is something I'll always remember. The Hill was losing, fourteen to nothing, when Dave took charge. Being Captain, he shouted encouragement, while demolishing and opening huge holes in the Hotchkiss line. It was infectious and we all joined. The Hill won, twenty-eight to fourteen.
The New York papers named Dave as the best prep school tackle in 1938. The Hill School football team was named the best prepschool football team in 1938.
Those are wonderful memories.
My condolences,
Gordon Lindemann

I remember so vividly Uncle Dave's smile and joy. Every time he saw me, "Hoooley, how're you doin?" He always made me feel special just for being me. I also remember the deep smile and love he had for MM. Thank you God for letting them be a part of my life that always bring a smile to my heart.
