Michael Janasik Obituary

Janasik, Michael T. "Mikey J" Age 18, of Fox Point and Winneconne, was taken unexpectedly from earth in a tragic auto accident Mon., July 13, 2009. Loving son of Ralph (Brenda) Janasik and Karen (Kevin) Behl. Dear brother of Nicholas and Joel Janasik and Robert Behl. Proud grandparents James and Marilyn Wolf, Thomas and Lucille Krajna, Robert and Carol Weber and Susan (the late Robert) Behl. Further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless number of friends. Visitation at ST. EUGENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (7600 N. Port Washington Rd., Fox Point) 2:00 PM Thursday (Note change in Visitation time) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 PM. Mike loved golfing with his grandpa Jim and hunting with grandpa Tom, playing basketball with his brothers and fishing with his dad. Michael's unconditional love for his mother lent her to become one of his best friends, where he could always find love and support. Dear Karen,
Please know how the school community holds you close in our thoughts and prayers. My heart is absolutely broken, as I remember Mikey's sense of humor and his ability to always say something sweet to me in class! Even though it has been several years since his days at Stormonth, I remember his devotion to you as well as his excitement to tell his teachers he was going fishing with his dad! And little Robert idolized him, rightly so. He was cherished by all of us at Stormonth, and he will be greatly missed.
With great sadness,

My prayers are with you, I cannot imagine how much pain your family is going through. Months ago one of my close friends passed away from an overdose. Most tragic thing that's ever happened to me. I've never been so heartbroken. Mike was a sweethart, and I'm terribly sorry. May he rest in peace. Stay strong and everything will be okay.

My heart is broken for all of you. I wish there was something we could do or say to help you through this. Karen, I think I shared with you when I called a couple of months ago, Mike answered and we had the nicest conversation. He was such a charming, bright, ariculate boy-you can be very proud. We are here for you and we love you. Love, Beth, Bob, Jacob and Gracie

Dear Karen,
Words are not enough to let you know how sorry I am for you. You loved Michael with all your heart. You were always there for him. Letting Michael hold on to you when he was little, because you made him feel safe and loved. I was very honored that you and Ralph choose me to be Michael's God mother. Thank you for letting me be able to take care of Mike. He was always so good having around. Playing with Bryan on his little basketball hoop, helping me and doing crafts(Easter napkin rings). Watching the Christmas Story with Me before going over to our family Christmas party. But more then anything I am thankful that God let me run into Michael on July 1, at Bakers Square. I did not know that he was going to be there. But when I saw him he stooded up and gave me a hug, then he sat back down I hug him again he rested his head into my chest. I kissed his head and said "I love you Michael and he said I love you Auntie" It felt so different. I think God wanted me to have this last special moment with my godson, my special nephew, my Michael.
Love, Lynn

Dear Janasik and Behl Families,
It was just over a year ago Michael stopped back at Stormonth to visit. When he stepped into my room three feet taller than the last time I'd seen him, it took me awhile to connect the face of the handsome young man to the memory of the energetic fourth grader. He kindly helped me along by providing his name and as he said it, the memories came flooding back. Michael spoke of his family, especially his mother, and how much he cherished her. My heart aches knowing the numbing pain you are all enduring. Please take comfort in the joy Michael spread by being a part of our lives. That joy will live on always.
With deepest sympathy, Patty Stark, Stormonth School

To the Behl and Janasik family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a good kid, and all of us that knew him would agree that he touched all of our hearts, and we all send our deepest sympathies to your family. I first met him in third grade at Stormonth, and he had so much energy and personality, he lit up the room when he walked into it. He was a beautiful and unique person, and i know we will all miss him so much. I hope you find strength today, seeing so many faces who all cared so much about your son. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and may Mike rest in peace.

My Nephew Remembered

I’ll never forget the little boy following me around the yard up north.
Doing my chores and getting boats ready for a ride,

“Uncle Marty, what are you doing?”

I would stay quiet and again he would ask,

“Now what are you doing?”
“Now what?”
“Now what, Uncle Marty?”
About every five minutes, “Now what are you doing?”

Eventually I would turn around quick and yell, “WHAT?”
To put a scare in him, and for a second he was scared.
Then we both would laugh our butts off and I would give him a big hug.

He liked the attention and I loved his curious mind.

I said goodbye to Michael the other day, but
I really said goodbye a couple of weeks ago when he passed me on the freeway.
I was on my way up north and he was yelling out a car window next to me.
“UNCLE MARTY!!!!!”

That and the curious, loving little boy following me around the yard
is how I will remember my nephew.
