Amy Notaney Obituary

Notaney (McGucken), Amy Sue Was born to Eternal Life Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Stanford University Medical Center following a brief illness. Amy was born March 31, 1965 to Robert (Mick) and Holly (Troyk) McGucken in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Menomonee Falls East High School, and later from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Amy was a successful sales representative for Xerox Corporation for many years. Her career brought her to Green Bay, WI, where she met her future husband, Hiro Notaney. After their marriage, they moved to Phoenix, AZ, where Amy had two sons. They later relocated to the San Francisco area, where Amy was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed attending her sons' many sporting events. Amy is survived by her sons, Rohan and Sohail (East Palo Alto, CA) and their father, Hiro. She is further survived by her parents, Robert and Holly McGucken; her sister Elizabeth Wagner and her husband, Michael (De Pere); her brother Dr. Robert and his wife , Laura (Wausau, WI); and her sister Tiffany Craig and her husband, Steven (Mequon). She is further survived by her nephews and nieces, Luke and Nathan Wagner, Daria, Karina, and Bobby McGucken, and Nikki, Marc and Jordan Craig; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and special friend Shari Crivello. The family would like to thank Amy's many friends in California for their support throughout her illness, the doctors and nurses at Stanford Medical Center, Michael Balboa, her cousin, and our many family and friends who have offered their prayers and support during this difficult time. A funeral mass celebrating Amy's life will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Congregation, 12130 West Center Street, Wauwatosa, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Amy's name to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin or Stanford University Medical Center. Amy was a sweet, gentle, caring soul who loved with her whole heart. Her children were the center of her life. Amy's infectious smile and sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her. She is deeply loved and will truly be missed.

To Hiro, Rohan, Sohail and the McGucken family,
My sincerest sympathies, thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time. I remember Amy through our mutual best friend Shari. Amy lived close to me here in AZ; however, while I knew her for a short time, she exuded such sincere beauty and genuiness and I know she was an amazing mother to Rohan and Sohail.
With loving sympathy,
