Reed, Douglas L. Of Shorewood. July 9, 2014, at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Cathy. Loving father of Bruce, Jeffrey, Bennett, Maddie and the late Tex (Sarah), the late Jay and the late Taylor. Further survived by other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Doug's Life will be Sunday July 13, at 2:00PM, at the Bog Golf Course, 3121 County Rd I in Saukville. Reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Shorewood Public Library. At the family's request, please dress casual. Doug was a lover of golf. He was always looking for a game and you better have brought your "A-game" if you wanted to beat him. He would golf 300 days a year and most recently was a member of The Bog. "4 for 3"

As an MSOE alum and former student of Dr. Reed, I was sorry to learn of his passing. My thoughts and condolences are with his wife and family. Dr. Reed did have the reputation of being a tough professor at MSOE, but this was only because he expected his students to learn the important legal subjects he taught. Dr. Reed was extremely knowledgeable and it showed in the passion he taught his students with. I learned a great deal from Dr. Reed and stayed in touch with him even after graduation. His kind nature and friendly conversation proved that he cared about his students, both as they learned as well as after they graduated and went on to their careers. Dr. Reed was always willing to provide advice on legal questions and I will be forever grateful for all that I learned from him.

Dr. Reed was a professor of mine at Milwaukee School of Engineering. While he was a tough professor inside the classroom, he was one of the best. He was a great person inside and outside of the classroom and was always willing to help. I gained the most knowledge from Dr. Reed and will always remember him as a great man that was always looking out for your best.

Thoughts and prayers go to the family and please know that the memories left with us of him are all great ones!

Our thoughts and prayers go to Doug's family. Doug and I were colleagues for more than 30 years and I have many fond memories, especially in recent years when we talked about state and national politics.
I'll miss Doug's great insight and wonderful sense of humor.

I will forever and fondly recall the wonderful times shared talking sports, reading (loving libraries)...and golfing on Sundays. He lived and loved the game as the great metaphor for life it is and I shall miss him.

Of all the faculty I've worked for at the School of Business at MSOE, Doug has always been one of my favorite. When he'd call me and say, "Hey Kimmie" I felt like he really cared for me and what I was going through. He always had a smile for me, and a story to tell. I loved his attachment to our football season. He loved to talk football, basketball and golf. He was a very interesting man, and will be missed by many at the School of Business. My heart goes out to the Reed family.
