Richard Zastrow Obituary

Zastrow, Richard 72. Forgiven by the cross of His Savior, Dick passed away in peace at home Sunday, August 3, 2014. Born on January 16, 1942 Dick grew up on 14th Street and never strayed far from Oklahoma Avenue. He graduated from Pulaski High School. He had visions and he made them happen. Dick reinvented himself several times in his 72 years. He made and installed awnings with his father, was a home-improvement contractor and Real Estate broker for 30 years, serving thousands of loyal customers and friends in the Milwaukee area. He also had a Bimbo truck and gave away more treats to kids than he sold. Dick always went the extra mile: he did whatever it took to give someone the dream of their own home. It was more than a business, he loved what he did. Dick loved to travel and made daily trips to McDonald's and Leon's. His heart was in the Southwest where he would travel in the winter in his Airstream. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Estelle Zastrow, and his twin sisters, Inez Stash and Iris Johannsen. He is survived by the love of his life, Ann Marie, and his children and grandchildren, who were his joy; His beautiful great-grandson Jamison; daughter Kathi Burger, Chad (Lindsay), Nick (Christina), Charlie, Bryan, Drew, Kayla, Jesse, Cheyenne, Sierra and Wyatt; daughter Ruth Hopkins, Mitchell and Olivia; daughter Lori Zastrow, Lilianna, Marina, Philip and Cecelia and their father Joe Bangoli; son Matthew Mark Zastrow (Jennifer) Bella; Heidi Blaszczyk (Travis) Daniel and Brianna; Rebecca Kveen (Kraig) Anna, Kylie and Jackson; Brandon Jeske (Necia) Donald and Owen, Kevin Peach, Rick (Kelly) Stauber and other special family and friends Peggy (Mike) Modl, Bobby (Debbie) Littlefield; Diane Pratt, and the Ellsworths, Sharlows, Morzeys, Uliks, , Hangartners, Stepanicks and Blazeks. Visitation at the Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, August 8, from 5-7:30 PM and on Saturday 10 AM till time of service at 11 AM. Interment Arlington Park Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Parameswaren Hari, the Froedtert Cancer Care Center and the staff of 4NT and 4NW, Stan, Sarah, Sandy, Amanda, Michele, Rena and Chanel <3. Memorials to LLS or St. Jude's Research Hospital.
