James Raspanti Obituary

Raspanti, James "Jim" Age 91, of West Bend, formerly of New Berlin, found peace on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Samaritan Health Center surrounded his loving family. Jim was born on May 7, 1923 in Chicago, IL to the late Louis and Lillian (nee Caviale) Raspanti. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot during WWII until March 1946. After his discharge from the Army, Jim worked as a watch maker for Montgomery Wards. He then worked for the Hostess Corp. as the Wisconsin Sales Manager from 1954 to 1983. Jim married the love of his life, Ann MacLeod, on November 29, 1945 in Long Beach, CA. Together they settled in Chicago where they raised their four children. Eventually they moved to New Berlin and were members of the Brookfield Hills Golf Club. In 1986, Ann and Jim retired to Florida where they enjoyed many leisure activities including golf and tennis before returning to Wisconsin in 2007 to be near their family. Ann passed away on March 8, 2012. Jim is survived by his four children, Tom (Cathy) Raspanti of Brookfield, John (Mary) Raspanti of Shorewood, Donna (Phil) Peterleus of Hartford and Teri Landry of Appleton; 13 grandchildren, Kimberly (Jonathan) Burkan, Kristin (Rich) Lytle, Emily (Bryce) Ripp and Thomas Raspanti; Mario, James, Anne Marie and Michael Raspanti; Cara and Alex Peterleus; Jamie, Jacqui and Sam Landry; five great-grandchildren, Laura and Grace Burkan; Sean Raspanti; Isabel and Maxwell Ripp; two sisters, Rosina Macak of Chicago, and Celeste Raspanti of St. Paul, MN; and other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann; and a son-in-law, Joe Landry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 12:00 noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Ave., West Bend, with Rev. Jerry Repenshek officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 12 noon. Myrhum - Patten Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family. We lived next door to the Raspanti's in the 40's and 50's. Knew Rosina and Celeste and loved their parents.
They came to our wedding.

To Dr. Tom Raspanti and family: Please accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of your father. In reading the obituary, it appears that he had a rich, full life with a wonderful family. You can't ask for much more than that. May the many good memories sustain you through this time of grief.

Uncle Jimmy will be missed so sorry our family has lost another person. But remember he is in heaven now and watching over us all. Chapman/Zanger family we send our love to all. Let me know if anyone needs anything. I will remember all the stories rosina told us grand kids when we were younger about Uncle Jim. Rip Uncle Jim you were a great guy ad thank you for serving our country it means a lot to me that you served our nation.
