Robert Hillsburg

Hillsburg, Robert L. Robert passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the age of 80. He was born September 2, 1934 in Kalamazoo to the late Milton and Pauline (Denner) Hillsburg. Robert was united in marriage to Sharon Stozicki on May 21, 1960. He is retired from Motor Sergeant position in the National Guards in 1960. Then went on to owner/operator of H & D Service Center in Kalamazoo and retired in 1995. After Robert retired he enjoyed helping his kids with whatever projects they could dream up. He loved working with his hands in his wood shop. His summers were spent at Indian Lake with his family, which was very important to him. He was a very devoted and loving husband. Some of his favorite things to do were fishing, playing cards, going to the casino and just helping out wherever he was needed. Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon Hillsburg; children, Robert (Melissa) Hillsburg, Thomas (Carol) Hillsburg, Kenneth (Tammy) Hillsburg and David (Krysta Lewandowski) Hillsburg; 10 grandchildren, Brian, Lauren, Sarah, Kaylee, Alyssa, Dani, Justin, Matt (Kellie), Kyle and Emily; brother, Jack (Jean) Hillsburg; sister, Carol (Walt) Wunderlin; and several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, where services will take place Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10:00am. Fr. Stanley Witek will officiate. A private committal service will be in Hope Cemetery, Texas Twp. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
