Albert "Al" Tuffelmire

Tuffelmire, Albert "Al" 6/7/1947 - 12/4/2015 Allegan Albert "Al" Tuffelmire, 74, of Allegan, Michigan passed away at the University of Michigan Medical Center surrounded by his family on December 4, 2015. Al is survived by his wife of 47 years, Loranna, two daughters Kari Tuffelmire, Tracy (Tuffelmire) Padot and her husband Tim; son Greg Tuffelmire and his wife Kelly; along with four grandchildren: Tyler, Kali, Nicholas and Porter. Two brothers Dale and Tom Tuffelmire, a sister Linda (Tuffelmire) Muenzer, many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ethel Tuffelmire. Al was born June 7, 1941 in Allegan, Michigan. He was a graduate of Allegan High School, served in the army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was proprietor of the Allegan True Value Hardware store for over 40 years before retiring and selling the business to his son Greg. It was one of Al's greatest joys he was able to pass on the family business his father Carl started over 60 years ago. Friends and family remember Al's love of tractors, trips to the casino and working on the family farm. He was a generous and loyal husband, father and grandfather. A memorial open house will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at the Hartman Conference Center in Allegan. In his honor, the Allegan True Value Hardware store will close at 2 p.m. that afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
