Marie Frances Schrader

Marie "Check" Frances Schrader, age 58, of Kansas City, MO, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 16, 2006, after her courageous battle with lung cancer. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 20, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home; with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Sunday evening, at the funeral home. Marie was born on Nov. 20, 1947, in Kansas City, KS. She grew up in the Bonner Springs area and attended Bonner Springs High School. Marie was an accomplished writer and artist as well as an avid gardener. She was employed by the Kansas City Star for several years and also worked at the JC Penny Distribution Center in Lenexa, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Mize, 2001. Survivors include her five children: daughter, Kelly Christensen of Kansas City, MO, son, Gail Shrader and wife Lucy of Kansas City, MO, daughter, Toni Carver and husband Terry of Shawnee, KS, daughter, Alfi DeLeon and husband, Roberto of the home, and son, Michael Schrader of Kansas City, MO; mother, Clara Mize of Bonner Springs, KS; three sisters, Darlene Chambers and husband Tom of Kansas City, KS, Gloria Smith of Bonner Springs, KS, JoAnn Letourneau and husband Tom of Lenexa, KS; ten grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Jacob, Sydney, Madison, Cori, Ty, Mercedes, Elizabeth, and Amy, two greatgrandchildren, Ryan and Grant.
