ROY LEEPER Obituary

Roy Kenneth Leeper, 92, died March 18, 2012. He was the son of Roy and Alta Leeper, born in Kidder, MO, on July 14, 1919. Better known as Kenneth, he was preceded in death by two younger brother, Kermit and Eugene, and one older sister Amber. Kenneth married Margaret Louise Pearse, who preceded him in death on July 9, 2009. To this 68-year Union were born three children: one son, David Roy and Lesa (Fletcher) Leeper of Gallatin, MO; two daughter, Donna and Kenneth Bendure of Lawson, MO and Carol and Michael Willard of Troy, MO. Seven grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends will greatly miss him. Mr. Leeper proudly served in the 6th Infantry during WWII, receiving two purple hearts and other commendations. After the war, Kenneth worked as a postal carrier, retiring in 1972 after 30 years of service. Kenneth was active in the community. He was a member of the Polo American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also served on the Polo Senior Housing Board and Polo School Board. Kenneth and Margaret were founding members of the Christ Chapel Church in Polo and enjoyed participating in activities at the Caldwell County Nutrition Center, especially playing in the pitch tournaments. Fishing, hunting, and gardening were favorite pastimes. Services 11:00AM Thursday March 22, 2012 Christ Chapel Church Polo, MO. Interment Cowgill Cemetery Cowgill, MO. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00PM Bailey & Cox Family Funeral Service Polo, MO. The family suggests memorials gifts to Christ Chapel Church or the Caldwell County Nutrition Center.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Leeper. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
