I grew up watching Rob hit home runs over the train tracks above Chrysler Stadium and pitching gems. Breaking his Discus record at Palmer 3 years behind him still ranks as one of my best memories. I wish I had the chance to know him as an adult. Sounds like he was a wonderful family man and may Blessings be on all the family and friends left behind!

Rob was a team mate and room mate in my first year at KU, and he was like an onery big brother who actually gave good advice, but also knew how to kick back and have some fun, too. He had a wicked sense of humor, great fastball, competitive spirit and giant heart. My wife, Janet, who also knew Rob, and myself will miss the big lug and we send our most sincere condolences to your family with the loss of our good buddy. May you celebrate his life long and often as we all know that is how he would most want to be remembered.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of this man. He was a great guy to work with and I was always glad to see him. I was lucky to have known him. Without his sarcastic encouragement I may not have decided to go out on that first date with my now husband. Thanks Rob! We will miss you! Rock Chalk!
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who loved him.
