HASKEL FISHER Obituary

Haskel Fisher Jr. of Overland Park, Kan., passed away suddenly on October 15, 2015, while he and his wife, Christy, were traveling along the Oregon coast celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Born in Sissonville, WV, on Jan. 5, 1940, Haskel moved to the KC area as a child and graduated from Westport High School in 1957. He went on to serve in the US Army and graduated from Rockhurst College with a degree in Finance. He worked with early computer technology at Phillips Petroleum & Panhandle Eastern. In 2001, after 27 years of service, Haskel retired as a Division Chief from the US Dept. of Agriculture, allowing him time to focus on his love of golf, family and friends. He is survived by wife, Christy, his children, Kelly (and Mary) Fisher, Shari (and David) Hinds, grandchildren, Alison, Wyatt, and Leo Hinds, Baby Girl Fisher on the way, as well as brother, Edward (and Connie) Fisher and family. Through great personal strength and determination, he overcame many obstacles, and he will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A celebration of life will be held the evening of Nov. 8 - please contact the family for details.
