PAUL ROGERS Obituary

Paul C. Rogers, 96, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Paul was born July 12, 1918, in Adrian, MO. He was a veteran of WW II serving in Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Paul was a member of the VFW. He was a world traveler with his companion Shirley Caldwell for over 40 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter Paula D. Dwyer, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Paul is survived by 2 daughters Susan A. Emmerey, Junetta (Charles) Godwin, 4 grandchildren; James Dwyer, Jr., Jerry Godwin, Ron Godwin, Jeff Godwin, 9 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. I worked at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant near DeSoto KS and knew Paul from conversation with him about his service and was humbled to be in the presence of a genuine American Hero!! Thank you Paul for your brave service!!! Currahee!!!!

I traveled with Paul For 2 weeks in Europe on a Steven Ambrose Tour. He was a very wonderful and generous person. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
