MICHAEL O'NEIL FINAN HENDERSON

FINAN HENDERSON Michael O'Neil Christopher Finan Henderson, if you please. Passed away on Sunday, Sept 26 at the home. Mike was born Dec. 27, 1941. He was married to Teresa (McAninch) Henderson on St. Patrick's day March 17, 2001. He was a member of Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church. Mike retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. Prior to that he served in the Air Force for four years. He graduated from Center High School in 1960 and just celebrated his 50 year class reunion on Friday and Saturday nights. Mike served as Mayor of Weatherby Lake 2004-2006. He was the Co- Founder of the Weatherby Lake Irish American Club which supported the Weatherby Lake Police Department. He was also a member of various clubs around Weatherby Lake. He was a member of the Platte County Pachyderm Club. Michael was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge #13 and Ararat Shriners Kansas City, MO. He was a member of VFW Post 7356. He leaves behind his wife Teresa, Weatherby Lake, three sons, Mark (Jennifer) Henderson, Jacksonvile, FL, Matthew (Amber) Henderson, Smithville, MO, Benjamin McAninch, Kansas City, MO: grandchildren, Jessican, Brandon, Hayden, Hunter, McKenna, Lake, Phoenix and Ireland. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Rapp and step-mother Ida "Tillie" Henderson; sisters Pat Dierks and Tanya Henderson: one brother Jerry Rapp. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, along with many great-nieces and nephews, that were the joy of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Henderson and step-father Charles Rapp. A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 1, 5:00 PM at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, 9600 NW Barry Rd., KCMO followed by a celebration of his life at the Weatherby Lake Community Center, 8230 NW Potomac, Weatherby Lake, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to the "Michael Henderson Memorial Fund" c/o WLIC, mailed to: WLIC, 7200 NW Eastside Dr., Weatherby Lake, MO 64152. Funds will cover a memorial bench at the newly renovated "C" point and the Weatherby Lake Police Department.
