BRUCE CORNISH Obituary

Bruce C. Cornish, 89, died on June 16, 2014 in Lee's Summit, MO. The son of Robert S. and Winifred Young Cornish, Bruce attended Yale University and the University of Wisconsin. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He worked for the Kansas City Water Department and had been active in All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Kansas City. Having grown up in a family of professional musicians, Bruce loved music and was active in the music programs at John Knox Village where he had lived for many years. He was interested in conservation and the environment and traveled to explore his appreciation of nature. He is survived by a nephew, Robert L. Baker, Jr. of Amherst, NH and a niece, Sandra Baker Byrne of Sunapee, NH. A memorial service will be held in the Village Church at John Knox Village, Lee's Summit, MO on Sunday, June 29 at 1 pm.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Cornish. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
