Gary Lyle Matousek, 60, Overland Park, Kan., passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd, Overland Park, KS 66212. Burial Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kan. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association. Gary was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Wichita, Kan. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a Respiratory Therapist at St. Joseph Medical Center. Gary was an avid gardener, Holiday Baker and was on the State Champion Bowling Team while he attended Wichita State University. He was preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Wilma Matousek. Gary is survived by wife of 32 years, Yvonne M. (Godinez) Matousek, two sons, Nathaniel G. "Adam" and wife Mary Matousek, Chicago, Ill., and Geoffrey L. Matousek, Lenexa, and extended family.
