John Jackson Obituary
Died: May 9, 2011; in Geneva
ST. CHARLES – John L. Jackson, 75, of St. Charles, died Monday, May 9, at Delnor Hospital, Geneva.
He was born Feb. 10, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minn.
Mr. Jackson was employed by Diamond International, which later became Smurfit Stone Company, for more than 40 years before his retirement. He was a an avid golfer and kept busy helping his daughters with their homes. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette; three daughters, Debbie (Gary) Netzley of Batavia, Annie Christiansen of Geneva and Lori (Ed) Altepeter of St. Charles; six grandchildren, Jason Christiansen, Jenny Wiley, Tony Harrison, Matt and Rich Altepeter and Matt Netzley; also three great-grandchildren, Tre, Hallie and Aubrie; and a sister, Rosemary Benson; and two brothers, Richard and Harold Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Clement; and two sons-in-law, Gary Christiansen and Harold Altepeter.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. Rev. Rich Rosinski officiating. Burial will be at River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
