Richard Prince Obituary

Died: June 3, 2011; in St. Charles

ST. CHARLES – Richard E. Prince, 85, of St Charles, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at his home.

He was a proud U.S. Army paratrooper, a veteran of World War II who served from 1943 to 1946.

Beloved husband of Tulsa; devoted father of Penny Childs, Michael, David, Patricia Avnet and his stepchildren Michael(Darlene) Kaatz, Paula Sund, Kevin (Jane) Kaatz. Loving grandfather of Kimberly (Jon) Weislo, Jennifer Cook, Elise (Darryl) Alexander, Michael Sund, Jeremy and Samantha Avnet, Stephanie Prince and Karissa and Wesley Childs, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O. Lee and Caroline (Wendt) Prince; his loving wife, Tulsa (Novinskie) Prince; nine brothers and sisters, Caroline, Lee, Julia, William, Dorothy, Ruth, Virgil, Irene and Kathryn; and one grandson, Ryan Kaatz.

Private internment at Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin at 1 p.m. Friday June 17, 2011. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate his life after 4 p.m. at his home. For further information, contact a family member.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the American Lung Association

Dick was a great guy. We had lot's of laughs, and he was always cheerful. He and Tulsa were a great couple. I am sure he is with her now.
