Was a student of Mrs. Bogert. She was, truly, an extraordinary teacher and prepared us so well for our future studies. We young students knew what a gem Mrs. Bogert was - even at the time!

I had Mrs. Bogert for math 8-11 grades at Wheatley and she inspired my love for mathematics which I majored in as an under-graduate and graduate student. She taught a program called Illinois Math which exposed us to the foundations of theorems and proofs at a young age. She was definitely the most influential teacher in my life.

Mrs Bogert was an inspiring role model, mentor and teacher. She encouraged me to do things that were out of the ordinary, but, with work, possible. For example, She encouraged me to take Math 11 and Math 12 in my junior year so I could take Calculus while still in high school. This had never been done before, but she was determined to help me navigate and juggle the two courses at the same time, which she did. Additionally, the very unexpected graduation gift that I received from her, a pair of gold lattice earring drops, are a treasured reminder of my favorite teacher every time a wear them. And math is still my favorite subject!

Mrs. Bogert was my math teacher in 8th grade. She was an amazing force in my life, and because of her encouragement and belief in me, I went on to study at MIT. In the 1960s that was an unusual thing for young women to do. She helped me to find my voice and follow it. I am forever grateful. She was a very special teacher and mentor.

Mrs. Bogert was an amazing teacher. I'll never forget her (and I took her math class in....gulp...1960/1961!

I am a 1968 graduate of The Wheatley School. It was Erma Bogert who inspired me to become a math teacher and I often thought back to the three years that I had her as a math teacher when I taught my classes. One of the things that stuck with me has how she demonstrated the look of a parabola by taking off her thick gold necklace and holding it up to make the appropriate shape. Of course, I did the same in front of my students!

Dixon, Jean, and family,
We will always remember dinners with both your parents at their home in St. Charles and at ours. We still have the lovely Waterford crystal pitcher that they gave us as a housewarming present in 1979 for our home on Clover Lane. Although we will not be able to join you for the service because of out-of-town guests, our thoughts are with you all.
