Bonnie Wohlgemuth Obituary

Kearney resident, 74

KEARNEY - Bonnie J. Wohlgemuth, 74, of Kearney died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at her home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kearney Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Mike Shields officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery near Funk.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

O'Brien-Straatmann-Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 3, 1937, in Holdrege to Lawrence and Lucille (Anderson) Broberg.

On Feb. 19, 1955, she married Charles Wohlgemuth in Keene. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Daniel and his wife, Kim, of Dickinson, Texas, David and his wife, Branda, and Donald and his wife, Brenda, all of Holdrege, Daron of Kansas City, Mo., and Delwin and his wife, Ellen, of Bonita Springs, Fla.; daughters, Denise Larsen and her husband, Doug, of Lincoln and DeAnn Watermeier and her husband, Nathan, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Danielle and Dustin Wohlgemuth of Hagerstown, Md., Jessica Kohlmorgan and Carli Wolfington of Texas, Morgan and LeAnna Wohlgemuth and Colby Wohlgemuth, all of Holdrege, Kelsi and Brandon Foster of Overland Park, Kan., Shane and Jayde Wohlgemuth and Chase Wohlgemuth, all of Funk, Caleb Exstrom of Kearney, Jada Exstrom of Rochester, Minn., Weston, Kennedy, London, Peyton and Kendel Wohlgemuth of Fort Meyers and Bonita Springs, Fla., and Elise and Camryn Watermeier of Lincoln; great-granddaughter, Elaina Wohlgemuth of Funk; and great-grandson, Gage Wohlgemuth of Holdrege.

She grew up on a farm southeast of Axtell and graduated from Minden High School in 1954. She and Charles lived and farmed in the Funk area for 36 years. She was active in many community and church activities. In April 1991, the couple moved to Kearney.

She was a member of the Kearney Evangelical Free Church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Prairie Museum, Evangelical Free Church of Kearney or the Funk Community Center.

I met Bonnie when we sang at the Good Friday service. A short while later we attended the same Grief Share group. She was a lovely lady. My prayers are with you as you grieve two huge losses in such a short time. May the peace and comfort of Jesus be with your entire family.
