Elsie Jean Prostko

1935 - 2013

Elsie Jean Prostko, 77, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus.

Born in Kenosha on Dec. 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Elsie (Schroeder) Diedrich. A lifelong Kenosha resident, Jean was educated in local schools and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1954.

In 1963, she married Casimir Casey Prostko at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Kenosha.

Jean was employed with Kenosha Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, camping, and especially, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Casimir Casey Prostko of Kenosha; two sons, Bob (Andrea) Prostko of Lake Orion, Mich., and John (Jacki) Prostko of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Joseph and Grace; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Megan Marie at birth.

Family and friends are asked to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, at Proko Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
