Mary C. Welch

1923 - 2017

WELCH Mary C., 94, widow of Miller A. Welch, passed away June 4, 2017 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY, surrounded by her family. Born Feb. 2, 1923 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Crispino and Estelle Crispino Turner. Mrs. Welch was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church and a former active member of numerous associations including the: Cardinal Hill Auxiliary, Lexington Women's Club, Lexington Business & Professional Women's Club, Lexington Cotillion, Lexington Advertising Club (former Vice President), 20/20 Investment Club and the Thoroughbred Club. Survivors include her daughter, Judge Rebecca M. (Honorable Jerry L. Wright) Overstreet (Retired) of Lexington, KY, with whom she lived with for several years; her son, Randall M. (Darlene) Overstreet, of Jacksonville, FL; a grandson, Kevin (DeAnna) Wright of Sellersburg, IN; granddaughters, Laura Wright (David) Walmsley and Leslee Wright (Corey) Maxwell, both of Lexington, KY, and Gianna and Izabella Overstreet, both of Jacksonville, FL; seven great granddaughters, Lily Wooley, Josie and Edie Walmsley, and Alyssa, Anna, Lydia and Claire Wright; a sister, Cris Neeld, of Lexington, KY; a brother, Joe (Maryan) Crispino of Aguanga, CA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a niece, Susan Fowler. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Borders and his staff for their kind and professional care, as well as to Rebecca Young and Litty Dean for their loving care during her final years. Visitation will be held 10am Wed, June 7, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. with a service following at 11am Wed by Dr. Bill Moore, Senior Minister at Southern Hills United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow in the Lexington Cemetery Mausoleum.
